Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Dream Of The Young As A Flower by Louie Cordero was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2011, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 70,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at HKD 300,000.00 (€ 27,704.88). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Louie Cordero; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Lead Brothers sold at auction in May 2013 with the realized price of HKD 300,000.00 (€ 29,750.54).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Dream Of The Young As A Flower von Louie Cordero im Oktober 2011 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 70.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 300.000,00 (€ 27.704,88) mehr als viermal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Louie Cordero; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Lead Brothers im Mai 2013 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 300.000,00 (€ 29.750,54).
