Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Prophet Jeremiah by Lorenzo Monaco was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 625,000.00 (€ 541,031.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Lorenzo Monaco have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Prophet Isaiah in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 3,615,000.00 (€ 3,242,443.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Prophet Jeremiah von Lorenzo Monaco kam im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 600.000,00 – 800.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 625.000,00 (€ 541.031,86) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lorenzo Monaco auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Prophet Isaiah im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.615.000,00 (€ 3.242.443,27).
