Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hagar And Ishmael In The Desert by Lorenzo Lippi was sold in the Old Master Paintings Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in London in December 2008. The price achieved of GBP 97,250.00 (€ 102,140.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Other works by Lorenzo Lippi have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2010 the work Consul Gaius Popillius drawing a circle around King Antiochus IV was auctioned for GBP 121,250.00 (€ 145,789.46).
