Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Naterjack toad, 1985 by Lord Snowdon was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 964.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Lord Snowdon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work David Hockney, 1963 in September 2020 with an auction result of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 8,959.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Naterjack toad, 1985 von Lord Snowdon kam im September 2020 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 875,00 (€ 964,83) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lord Snowdon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit David Hockney, 1963 im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 8.959,13).
