Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2004 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Neuville-Les-Avignon by Paul Ayshford Methuen. It changed hands for a price of GBP 573.60 (€ 825.57) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Admittedly, works by Paul Ayshford Methuen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Reclining nude in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,858.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Neuville-Les-Avignon von Paul Ayshford Methuen zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 573,60 (€ 825,57) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Ayshford Methuen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Reclining nude im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.858,07).
