Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Lodewijk Toeput could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and British Works on Paper Including drawings from the Oppé Collection auction, the work Fantastic River Landscape With Ruins, A Castle And Figures Conversing In The Foreground changed hands for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,852.70) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 14,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lodewijk Toeput - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Veduta Del Parco Di Una Villa Con Figure Vicino A Una Fontana, which sold at auction in May 2007 for EUR 45,600.00.
