Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Dna Of Chinese Painting Series Postmodern Conversations With The Past Painters Series Calling For Xiang Sheng-Mo Late Ming Painter: Old Tree Against The Windy Dusk by Lo Ch'ing was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 60,000.00 – 100,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 31,250.00 (€ However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lo Ch'ing - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Sun also Rises, 2016, which sold at auction in May this year for GBP 10,837.50 (€ 12,609.50).

Als die Arbeit The Dna Of Chinese Painting Series Postmodern Conversations With The Past Painters Series Calling For Xiang Sheng-Mo Late Ming Painter: Old Tree Against The Windy Dusk von Lo Ch'ing im April 2016 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 60.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 31.250,00 (€ 3.520,78) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Lo Ch'ing mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Sun also Rises, 2016 beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für GBP 10.837,50 (€ 12.609,50) versteigert wurde.
