Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View from Mordialloc Verandah, 1926 by Lloyd Rees was sold in the The Fred and Elinor Wrobel CollectionThe Artist's Eye auction at Bonhams in New York in August this year. The price achieved of AUD 5,535.00 (€ 3,302.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lloyd Rees achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian The Morning Ferry in November 2009 with an auction result of AUD 240,000.00 (€ 146,346.54).
