The work Toady by Liu Shuishi was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2021. It achieved a price of USD 81,250.00 (€ 69,190.16), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 63%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Liu Shuishi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Smart One sold at auction in March 2021 with the realized price of USD 125,000.00 (€ 106,446.39).

Die Arbeit Toady von Liu Shuishi kam im März 2021 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 81.250,00 (€ 69.190,16) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 63%. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Liu Shuishi; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Smart One im März 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 125.000,00 (€ 106.446,39).
