This artwork by Liu Shuishi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2021. In the Contemporary Art Asia auction, the work The Smart One sold for USD 125,000.00 (€ 106,446.39) - well above the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00. This high result makes The Smart One the most expensive artwork by Liu Shuishi that we have observed at auctions so far.
