The work Night Festivities by Liu Lingcang was worth HKD 312,000.00 (€ 31,338.58) to a buyer in May 2006. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Modern and Contemporary Chinese Paintings I & II at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Liu Lingcang; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Figures sold at auction in October 2015 with the realized price of HKD 295,000.00 (€ 34,463.87).

Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Modern and Contemporary Chinese Paintings I & II bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Liu Lingcang; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Figures im Oktober 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 295.000,00 (€ 34.463,87).
