The »bidding war« ended at HKD 1,003,000.00 (€ 126,956.98), 67% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Kuo-Sung achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Trajectory of the Planet in April this year with an auction result of HKD 1,800,000.00 (€ 1,838,152.17).

Die Arbeit Which Is Earth? No.87 von Liu Kuo-Sung wurde im August letzten Jahres in der Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink Paintings - Contemporary Chinese Classical Paintings & Contemporary Chinese New Paintings bei POLY versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 1.003.000,00 (€ 126.956,98) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liu Kuo-Sung erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Trajectory of the Planet im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.800.000,00 (€ 1.838.152,17).
