Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Elephant Trunk Hill, Guilin by Liu Kang was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Morning Session) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2019. The price achieved of HKD 250,000.00 (€ 28,612.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Kang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Adjusting The Waistband in May last year with an auction result of HKD 3,150,000.00 (€ 373,972.60).

Die Arbeit Elephant Trunk Hill, Guilin von Liu Kang wurde im Mai 2019 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Morning Session) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 250.000,00 (€ 28.612,43) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liu Kang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Adjusting The Waistband im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.150.000,00 (€ 373.972,60).
