Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Moonlight by Lionel Walden was sold in the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2010. It changed hands for a price of USD 17,500.00 (€ 12,938.05) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Lionel Walden have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hawaiian Coast in June 2014 with an auction result of USD 106,250.00 (€ 77,611.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Moonlight von Lionel Walden wurde im März 2010 in der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 12.938,05) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lionel Walden auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hawaiian Coast im Juni 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 106.250,00 (€ 77.611,40).
