Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Hawaiian Coastline by Lionel Walden. The price achieved of USD 31,250.00 (€ 22,193.03) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lionel Walden - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hawaiian Coast, which sold at auction in June 2014 for USD 106,250.00 (€ 77,611.40).

Im September 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hawaiian Coastline von Lionel Walden zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 31.250,00 (€ 22.193,03) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Lionel Walden mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hawaiian Coast beobachtet, die im Juni 2014 für USD 106.250,00 (€ 77.611,40) versteigert wurde.
