This artwork by Lincoln Townley achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April last year. In the Contemporary Day Auction auction, the work Bacon's Casino Nights sold for HKD 1,071,000.00 (€ 129,491.70) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 600,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lincoln Townley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dance with the Devil, which sold at auction in March last year for USD 378,000.00 (€ 340,755.43).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Lincoln Townley erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Bacon's Casino Nights für HKD 1.071.000,00 (€ 129.491,70) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 600.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Lincoln Townley mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dance with the Devil beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für USD 378.000,00 (€ 340.755,43) versteigert wurde.
