Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Five-character Poem by Du Fu in Running Script by Lin Yutang was sold in the Summer Reverie: Chinese Paintings Online auction at Christies in New York in August this year. The price achieved of HKD 37,800.00 (€ 4,446.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lin Yutang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Handwritings And Manuscripts in April 2021 with an auction result of HKD 8,200,000.00 (€ 877,938.49).

Die Arbeit Five-character Poem by Du Fu in Running Script von Lin Yutang wurde im August diesen Jahres in der Auktion Summer Reverie: Chinese Paintings Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 37.800,00 (€ 4.446,44) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lin Yutang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Handwritings And Manuscripts im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 8.200.000,00 (€ 877.938,49).
