Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Lin Yutang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2019. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Calligraphy sold for HKD 500,000.00 (€ 56,914.56) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 180,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lin Yutang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Handwritings And Manuscripts in April 2021 with an auction result of HKD 8,200,000.00 (€ 877,938.49).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lin Yutang erzielte im April 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy für HKD 500.000,00 (€ 56.914,56) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 180.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lin Yutang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Handwritings And Manuscripts im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 8.200.000,00 (€ 877.938,49).
