In April 2013 POLY in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Calligraphy by Lin Yutang. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 460,000.00 (€ 45,028.86), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lin Yutang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Handwritings And Manuscripts in April 2021 with an auction result of HKD 8,200,000.00 (€ 877,938.49).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im April 2013 führte POLY in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy von Lin Yutang zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 460.000,00 (€ 45.028,86) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lin Yutang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Handwritings And Manuscripts im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 8.200.000,00 (€ 877.938,49).
