six lithographs with hand-coloring, 1933-40, on wove papers, published by A. Grove and A.D. Cotton, London, all with margins, all with the palest light- staining, very minor surface soiling on several plates, Lilium Bolanderi with a few very pale foxmarks in the lower margin, otherwise all apparently in very good condition, in faux-gilt frames with a floral border and French mats with wash lines, not examined out of the frames

Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work A Supplement to Elwes' Monograph of the Genus Lilium: Six Plates by Lilian Snelling for USD 1,434.00 (€ 1,335.32). This price was achieved in the auction The House Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Lilian Snelling have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in February 2003 by the work A Supplement to Elwes' Monograph of the Genus Lilium: Five Plates at USD 2,031.50 (€ 1,884.68).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2003 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Supplement to Elwes' Monograph of the Genus Lilium: Six Plates von Lilian Snelling für USD 1.434,00 (€ 1.335,32) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The House Sale bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Lilian Snelling wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Februar 2003 die Arbeit A Supplement to Elwes' Monograph of the Genus Lilium: Five Plates mit USD 2.031,50 (€ 1.884,68).
