A top price for Lilian Snelling - as previously expected
The work A Supplement to Elwes' Monograph of the Genus Lilium: Five Plates by Lilian Snelling was sold in the THE HOUSE SALE auction at Christies in New York in February 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,031.50 (€ 1,884.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A Supplement to Elwes' Monograph of the Genus Lilium: Five Plates is the most expensive artwork by Lilian Snelling that we have observed at auctions so far.
