Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A coastal landscape at sunset with stevedores and shipping by Lieve Pietersz. Verschuier was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2007. The price achieved of GBP 4,800.00 (€ 7,027.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lieve Pietersz. Verschuier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sailors unloading cargo from a sailing vessel, moored on a Mediterranean shore, with a rowing boat and a three-master beyond, at dawn in May 2000 with an auction result of NLG 304,252.00 (€ 132,849.31).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.800,00 (€ 7.027,82) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lieve Pietersz. Verschuier erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sailors unloading cargo from a sailing vessel, moored on a Mediterranean shore, with a rowing boat and a three-master beyond, at dawn im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 304.252,00 (€ 132.849,31).
