This artwork by Charles Ramus Forrest achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2013. In the Travel, Science & Natural History auction, the work A View On The River Demerary sold for GBP 1,187.50 (€ 1,403.62) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 400.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Ramus Forrest have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Picturesque Tour along the Rivers Ganges and Jumna in India.
