Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View On The Lower Lake St. Charles, 15 Miles N. of Quebec (Canadian Views. No. 26.) by Charles Ramus Forrest was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2004. The price achieved of GBP 3,346.00 (€ 4,874.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Ramus Forrest - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Picturesque Tour along the Rivers Ganges and Jumna in India. London: L. Harrison for R. Ackermann, 1824 [text watermarked 1822-1824; plates, 1824.|AID824501], which sold at auction in September 2005 for GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,566.53).
