Upper estimate price exceeded by 89 %.
This artwork by Liang Tongshu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April last year. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction, the work Two Letters to Wu Xiu sold for HKD 56,700.00 (€ 6,855.44) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Liang Tongshu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy Scrolls in April 2013 with an auction result of HKD 690,000.00 (€ 67,543.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 89 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Liang Tongshu erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Two Letters to Wu Xiu für HKD 56.700,00 (€ 6.855,44) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liang Tongshu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy Scrolls im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 690.000,00 (€ 67.543,29).
