Liang Quan was one of the first generation of Chinese contemporary artists who studied in the US after Cultural Revolution. In 1981,he attended San Francisco Academy of Fine Arts to study printmaking. The overseas experience allowed him to reflect upon the characteristics of Chinese art under Western context,and encouraged him to explore the possibilities of Chinese Abstract Art. Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Days Of Tea Drinking 130731 by Liang Quan was sold in the 20th Century and Contemporary Chinese Art auction at China Guardian in Hong Kong in May 2016. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 150,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 153,400.00 (€ 17,730.20). Admittedly, works by Liang Quan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in April 2015 with an auction result of CNY 587,500.00 (€ 84,845.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Days Of Tea Drinking 130731 von Liang Quan wurde im Mai 2016 in der Auktion 20th Century and Contemporary Chinese Art bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 150.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 153.400,00 (€ 17.730,20) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liang Quan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CNY 587.500,00 (€ 84.845,91).
