In April 2016 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction The Origo Collection — Contemporary Ink Art, which included the work A White Horse Is Not A Horse by Liang Quan. The result of HKD 250,000.00 (€ 28,166.24) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Liang Quan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in April 2015 for CNY 587,500.00 (€ 84,845.91).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2016 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion The Origo Collection — Contemporary Ink Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A White Horse Is Not A Horse von Liang Quan zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 250.000,00 (€ 28.166,24) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Liang Quan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im April 2015 für CNY 587.500,00 (€ 84.845,91) versteigert wurde.
