Artwork auctioned at six times the upper estimate price
When the work Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu by Liang Qichao was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 80,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than six times as high at HKD 504,000.00 (€ 53,961.10). Admittedly, works by Liang Qichao have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy In Kaishu in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 4,160,000.00 (€ 480,774.05).
Kunstwerk zum Sechsfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu von Liang Qichao im April 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 80.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 504.000,00 (€ 53.961,10) mehr als sechsmal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liang Qichao auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy In Kaishu im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.160.000,00 (€ 480.774,05).
