A top price for Liang Qichao
This artwork by Liang Qichao achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2015. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Calligraphy In Kaishu sold for HKD 4,160,000.00 (€ 480,774.05) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 1,500,000.00. This high result makes Calligraphy In Kaishu the most expensive artwork by Liang Qichao that we have observed at auctions so far.
