This artwork by Lian Xi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year. In the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Boating at Night sold for HKD 52,920.00 (€ 6,282.74) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Lian Xi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Saying Goodbye in September 2019 with an auction result of USD 27,500.00 (€ 25,217.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 76 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lian Xi erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Boating at Night für HKD 52.920,00 (€ 6.282,74) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lian Xi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Saying Goodbye im September 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 25.217,79).
