Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Li Yan could be acquired at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Two Birds / Cat and Rock changed hands for HKD 10,710.00 (€ 1,283.44) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Li Yan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Long and Winding Road 1989.6.5 in April 2021 with an auction result of HKD 228,000.00 (€ 24,410.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Li Yan konnte im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online wechselte die Arbeit Two Birds / Cat and Rock für HKD 10.710,00 (€ 1.283,44) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Li Yan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Long and Winding Road 1989.6.5 im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 228.000,00 (€ 24.410,97).
