This artwork by Li Yan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2016. In the Fine Chinese Modern Paintings auction, the work Monkey and Loquat sold for HKD 118,750.00 (€ 13,725.30) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Li Yan; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Long and Winding Road 1989.6.5 sold at auction in April 2021 with the realized price of HKD 228,000.00 (€ 24,410.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Li Yan erzielte im Mai 2016 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings wurde die Arbeit Monkey and Loquat für HKD 118.750,00 (€ 13.725,30) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Li Yan; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Long and Winding Road 1989.6.5 im April 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 228.000,00 (€ 24.410,97).
