Inscription by Mao Jiao (17th century), signed Yeting Mao Jiao, inscribed with a poem, with three seals, mao jiao zhi yin, zeng xian shi, and one other (illegible)

This artwork by Li Shida achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2013. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Cal auction, the work Remembering The Old Days In Front Of The Cliff sold for USD 56,250.00 (€ 41,558.92) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Li Shida; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Drinking under the Moonlight sold at auction in June 2015 with the realized price of HKD 437,500.00 (€ 50,598.44).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Li Shida erzielte im September 2013 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Cal wurde die Arbeit Remembering The Old Days In Front Of The Cliff für USD 56.250,00 (€ 41.558,92) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Li Shida; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Drinking under the Moonlight im Juni 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 437.500,00 (€ 50.598,44).
