Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2021 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 20th and 21st Century Art Afternoon Session, which included the work Sub-Rouge by Li Shan. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 812,500.00 (€ 85,887.53) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Li Shan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rouge in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 11,210,000.00 (€ 1,154,102.15).
