Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2016 China Guardian in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas, which included the work Lao Zi by Li Qiujun. The price achieved of HKD 9,440.00 (€ 1,150.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 8,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Li Qiujun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Revising Books in the Northern Qi Dynasty, After Yan Liben in May 2014 with an auction result of HKD 3,040,000.00 (€ 287,507.33).
