Artwork auctioned at seven times the upper estimate price
The work Chrysanthemum And Bees by Li Qiujun was worth USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,443.86) to a buyer in March 2014. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 1,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Li Qiujun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Revising Books in the Northern Qi Dynasty, After Yan Liben in May 2014 with an auction result of HKD 3,040,000.00 (€ 287,507.33).
