The work War and Peace by Li Hui was worth HKD 1,447,500.00 (€ 126,537.99) to a buyer in November 2007. This price was achieved in the auction Asian Contemporary Art at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 150,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Li Hui; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ark No. 2 sold at auction in May 2008 with the realized price of HKD 2,407,500.00 (€ 198,201.00).
