A top price for Li Gemin
When the work Washing Horse by Li Gemin was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2018, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 18,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at HKD 75,000.00 (€ 8,465.07). This high result makes Washing Horse the most expensive artwork by Li Gemin that we have observed at auctions so far.
