This artwork by Li Gemin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018. In the Fine Chinese Modern Paintings auction, the work Apricot Blossom and Two Sparrows sold for HKD 37,500.00 (€ 4,097.04) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Li Gemin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Washing Horse, which sold at auction in November 2018 for HKD 75,000.00 (€ 8,465.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Li Gemin erzielte im Mai 2018 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings wurde die Arbeit Apricot Blossom and Two Sparrows für HKD 37.500,00 (€ 4.097,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Li Gemin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Washing Horse beobachtet, die im November 2018 für HKD 75.000,00 (€ 8.465,07) versteigert wurde.
