The work Letters by Li Dongyang was worth USD 394,000.00 (€ 352,983.34) to a buyer in September 2015. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 90,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Li Dongyang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fourteen Poems on Planting Bamboo in March 2019 with an auction result of USD 4,575,000.00 (€ 4,074,634.84).

Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von USD 90.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Li Dongyang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fourteen Poems on Planting Bamboo im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.575.000,00 (€ 4.074.634,84).
