This price was achieved in the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 120,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Li Dongyang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fourteen Poems on Planting Bamboo in March 2019 with an auction result of USD 4,575,000.00 (€ 4,074,634.84).
