Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2016 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Tomatoes, Melon, Peppers and Red Currants by Levi Wells Prentice. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 21,250.00 (€ 19,083.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Levi Wells Prentice have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View Of Blue Mountain Lake in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 78,482.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tomatoes, Melon, Peppers and Red Currants von Levi Wells Prentice zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 19.083,97) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Levi Wells Prentice auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View Of Blue Mountain Lake im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 78.482,38).
