Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A bit of Surrey, near Hazelmere by Leopold Rivers was sold in the British and Continental Pictures auction at Christies in London in January 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 420.00 (€ 615.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Leopold Rivers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The End Of The Day in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,673.42).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A bit of Surrey, near Hazelmere von Leopold Rivers wurde im Januar 2006 in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 420,00 (€ 615,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leopold Rivers auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The End Of The Day im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.673,42).
