Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2009 Christies in New York held the auction The Scholars Eye: Property from the Julius Held Collection Part II, which included the work A young girl standing barefoot, wrapped in a shawl by Leopold Carl Müller. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,625.00 (€ 1,269.13). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leopold Carl Müller achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work German An Almée'S Admirers (Egyptische Tänzerin) in October 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,650,500.00 (€ 1,301,450.88).
