Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Untitled Triptych, Code Noir Series, 2014 by Leonce Raphael Agbodjelou was sold in the Modern and Contemporary African Art auction at Sothebys in London in March 2021. It achieved a price of GBP 10,710.00 (€ 12,581.49), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 19%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Leonce Raphael Agbodjelou - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled triptych ('Demoiselles de Porto-Novo' series), 2012, which sold at auction in October 2018 for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 42,288.43).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled Triptych, Code Noir Series, 2014 von Leonce Raphael Agbodjelou wurde im März 2021 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 10.710,00 (€ 12.581,49) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 19%. Für andere Arbeiten von Leonce Raphael Agbodjelou mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled triptych ('Demoiselles de Porto-Novo' series), 2012 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für GBP 37.500,00 (€ 42.288,43) versteigert wurde.
