Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Bonhams in Edinburgh held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work Untitled (Egungun Series) by Leonce Raphael Agbodjelou. The price achieved of GBP 5,120.00 (€ 5,879.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Leonce Raphael Agbodjelou have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled triptych ('Demoiselles de Porto-Novo' series), 2012 in October 2018 with an auction result of GBP 37,500.00 (€ 42,288.43).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Edinburgh die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Egungun Series) von Leonce Raphael Agbodjelou zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.120,00 (€ 5.879,18) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leonce Raphael Agbodjelou auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled triptych ('Demoiselles de Porto-Novo' series), 2012 im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.500,00 (€ 42.288,43).
