Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of a schoolboy, half-length, before an industrial landscape by Leonard Major for GBP 352.50 (€ 506.02). This price was achieved in the auction At Home-British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Leonard Major have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2003 by the work The old busker at GBP 646.25 (€ 927.70).
