This artwork by Leonard French achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Sydney in August this year. In the Important Australian Art auction, the work White Towers in a Landscape, 1962 sold for AUD 5,535.00 (€ 3,302.92) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leonard French achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian The Crossing in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 156,000.00 (€ 95,921.50).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Leonard French erzielte im August diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Sydney einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Australian Art wurde die Arbeit White Towers in a Landscape, 1962 für AUD 5.535,00 (€ 3.302,92) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 2.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leonard French erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian The Crossing im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 156.000,00 (€ 95.921,50).
