Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2008 Sothebys in Sydney held the auction Important Paintings, which included the work Australian Anaximander by Leonard French. The price achieved of AUD 36,000.00 (€ 21,780.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Admittedly, works by Leonard French have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian The Crossing in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 156,000.00 (€ 95,921.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2008 führte Sothebys in Sydney die Auktion Important Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian Anaximander von Leonard French zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 36.000,00 (€ 21.780,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leonard French auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Australian The Crossing im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 156.000,00 (€ 95.921,50).
