Auction result misses estimated price range

When the work Composition No. 12 by Léon Zack was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in December 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 5,625.00. Admittedly, works by Léon Zack have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Composition in December 2007 with an auction result of EUR 31,450.00.

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Als die Arbeit Composition No. 12 von Léon Zack im Dezember 2019 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 5.625,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Léon Zack auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Composition im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 31.450,00.
